What is flocking sandpaper
Flocking refers to attaching a layer of flannel to the back of the sandpaper or emery cloth.
Flocking sandpaper is then processed into different shapes such as round or square so it is more convenient to use. Some of them are further processed into different shapes with holes on it so that it is useful for the discharging of the waste.
Main use of sandpaper with Velcro
Flocking sandpaper is widely used in the manufacture of electric vehicles, automobiles, machinery manufacturing, glass fiber, and plastic polishing, woodware, furniture, musical instrument paint, etc. Such as:
1, metal products such as stainless steel knives and scissors, tableware, thermos, cups painting, and polishing;
2, watch accessories, watch case strap painting and polishing;
3, surface painting and polishing of golf clubs and balls;
4, metal casting deburring;
5, building hardware, hinges and locks grinding and polishing;
6, lighting products and accessories grinding and polishing;
7, bicycle frame rim polishing;
8, VCD panel and mobile phone shell drawing
9, bathroom products polishing;
10, wire drawing treatment of the surface of electroplated products
11, aluminum heat sink deburring;
12, stainless steel pipe and steel strip surface drawing;
13, grinding and polishing all kinds of wooden pieces;
How to store back velvet sandpaper
1, ideal temperature: 18℃~22℃
2, ideal humidity: 40%-65%;
Flocking sandpaper and sand disc should not be stored in places with large temperature and humidity changes.
Excessive temperature will cause the binder or bond to age and reduce the service life of the sandpaper; synthetic fiber substrate sandpaper is more sensitive to cold, and can not store in a cold warehouse;
Too high or too low humidity will reduce the bonding strength of the glue layer which will lead to the deformation of the sandpaper.
Except for water-proof sandpaper, dry sandpaper will be prone to folding, wrinkling when they get damp. Also, damp sandpaper is easy to adhere grinding material which will reduce the service life of sandpaper;
What are the different functions of backing sandpaper in different procedures
Back velvet sandpaper has different grits. Comman ones are P60, P80, P120, P180, P240, P320,P400,P500.
Brushed sandpaper generally plays different roles in different polishing processes :
1, rough polishing, generally P60, P80, mainly to remove burrs, rust, oil, dust, etc. on the surface of the substrate;
2, medium sanding, generally use P120,P180,P240 , mainly to reduce the roughness of the painted surface. For instance, the products have uneven and rough surfaces after they have been scratched with putty. It needs to be polished with sandpaper to make the surface smooth;
3, fine polishing, generally with P320, P400 grit. The more use is drawing. Sandpaper discs are mostly used to polish to enhance the adhesion of the coating, so that coatings have more excellent adhesion on smooth surfaces.
Sandpaper is one of the important tasks to improve the role of painting. Sandpaper functions in the whole process of coating. It is a key process and an important guarantee for the appearance and strength of paint.
How to distinguish good flocking sandpaper
Regarding how to distinguish between good and not good-backed sandpaper, many workers in the polishing industry can make a distinguishment by looking at, touching, and feeling.
But there are still many who don’t work in the grinding and polishing area don’t have a clue 5 points to judge good or bad of flocking sandpaper:
There are five aspects to estimate the quality of the sandpaper:
1, whether the sand is even and uniform;
2, whether there is a spot lack of glue or less glue;
3, try the flexibility; low quality is easier to break;
4, try the sand adhesion fastness; good one has better adhesion;
5, try the wear-resistance ;
