Manufacturing process
The manufacturing and production of superhard material resin abrasive tools is basically the same as that of ordinary resin abrasive tools, but there are slight differences in formula and process operation. The formula is characterized by more fillers and less abrasive; the process is characterized by hot pressing, and the hot pressing temperatures are: phenolic resin 180°C, polyimide 225°C, and the unit pressure is (300~750)×10°Pa, or even 100MPa. The curing time is 10~30h. Due to the special structure of the superhard material resin abrasive tool, the forming mold and the forming operation become complicated, and the operation is required to be more detailed.
The relationship between binder dosage and hardness
In the abrasive tools of the same concentration, as the amount of bonding agent increases, the hardness of the abrasive tools also increases, but when the amount of bonding agent is too much, not only the hardness increases little, but also it brings many difficulties to the mixing and molding. Therefore, it is often not necessary to increase the hardness of the binder, but to increase the hardness and strength of the abrasive tool. Another way to increase the hardness is to increase the molding pressure to increase the density of the abrasive, reduce the distance between the abrasive grains, and thicken the bond bridge, so that the abrasive grains are bonded more firmly and the hardness is greater.
